Barangay Ballag

Situated in Bani, Pangasinan, Barangay Ballag is one of 27 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ballag had a population of 1,083. This made it the 24th largest of 27 barangays in Bani by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ballag accounted for approximately 2.06% of the total population of Bani, which stood at 52,603 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,144 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,083 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.3%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Ballag is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bani is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ballag, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Ballag ranks 1133rd by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
