Barangay Garrita

Situated in Bani, Pangasinan, Barangay Garrita is one of 27 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Garrita had a population of 1,143. This made it the 21st largest of 27 barangays in Bani by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Garrita accounted for approximately 2.17% of the total population of Bani, which stood at 52,603 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,561 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,143 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -26.8%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Garrita is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bani is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Garrita, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
