Barangay Union

Situated in Bansalan, Davao Del Sur, Barangay Union is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Davao Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Union had a population of 1,003. This made it the 20th largest of 25 barangays in Bansalan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Union accounted for approximately 1.60% of the total population of Bansalan, which stood at 62,737 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 634 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,003 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +58.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Union is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bansalan is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Union, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
