Situated in Bantay, Ilocos Sur, Barangay Quimmarayan is one of 34 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Quimmarayan had a population of 583. This made it the 28th largest of 34 barangays in Bantay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Quimmarayan accounted for approximately 1.57% of the total population of Bantay, which stood at 37,118 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 577 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 583 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.0%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Quimmarayan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
