Barangay San Julian

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay San Julian is one of the administrative divisions of Bantay in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Julian had a population of 972. This made it the 15th largest of 34 barangays in Bantay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Julian accounted for approximately 2.62% of the total population of Bantay, which stood at 37,118 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 961 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 972 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.1%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay San Julian is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bantay is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Julian, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Ilocos Sur, which contains 768 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Julian ranks 264th by 2020 population.
