Barangay Cabacnitan

Situated in Batuan, Bohol, Barangay Cabacnitan is one of 15 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cabacnitan had a population of 662. This made it the 10th largest of 15 barangays in Batuan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cabacnitan accounted for approximately 4.78% of the total population of Batuan, which stood at 13,845 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 701 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 662 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.6%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cabacnitan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Batuan is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cabacnitan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cabacnitan ranks 791st by 2020 population.
