Barangay Bugang Sur

Situated in Bilar, Bohol, Barangay Bugang Sur is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bugang Sur had a population of 991. This made it the 9th largest of 19 barangays in Bilar by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bugang Sur accounted for approximately 5.35% of the total population of Bilar, which stood at 18,512 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bugang Sur moving from 918 residents to 991 residents, an intercensal change of +8.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bugang Sur as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
