Barangay Batangan

Barangay Batangan forms part of Bindoy, a municipality in Negros Oriental, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Batangan had a population of 920. This made it the 18th largest of 22 barangays in Bindoy by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Batangan accounted for approximately 2.28% of the total population of Bindoy, which stood at 40,308 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Batangan moving from 799 residents to 920 residents, an intercensal change of +15.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Batangan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
