Barangay Ipil

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Ipil is one of the administrative divisions of Bongabong in Oriental Mindoro, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ipil had a population of 2,529. This made it the 9th largest of 36 barangays in Bongabong by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ipil accounted for approximately 3.29% of the total population of Bongabong, which stood at 76,973 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Ipil moving from 2,589 residents to 2,529 residents, an intercensal change of -2.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Ipil is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barangay Ipil is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
