Barangay Bacjao

Barangay Bacjao is a small barangay in the municipality of Buenavista, located in the province of Guimaras, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bacjao had a population of 709. This made it the 31st largest of 36 barangays in Buenavista by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bacjao accounted for approximately 1.34% of the total population of Buenavista, which stood at 52,899 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bacjao moving from 707 residents to 709 residents, an intercensal change of +0.3%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Bacjao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Buenavista is a municipality comprising 36 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bacjao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
