Situated in Buenavista, Guimaras, Barangay Montpiller is one of 36 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Montpiller had a population of 808. This made it the 29th largest of 36 barangays in Buenavista by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Montpiller accounted for approximately 1.53% of the total population of Buenavista, which stood at 52,899 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 850 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 808 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.9%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Montpiller is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
