Barangay New Poblacion

Situated in Buenavista, Guimaras, Barangay New Poblacion is one of 36 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay New Poblacion had a population of 3,909. This made it the 2nd largest of 36 barangays in Buenavista by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay New Poblacion accounted for approximately 7.39% of the total population of Buenavista, which stood at 52,899 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,570 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,909 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay New Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Buenavista is a municipality comprising 36 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay New Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
