Barangay Salvacion

Situated in Buenavista, Guimaras, Barangay Salvacion is one of 36 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Salvacion had a population of 4,140. This made it the 1st largest of 36 barangays in Buenavista by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salvacion accounted for approximately 7.83% of the total population of Buenavista, which stood at 52,899 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Salvacion changed from 3,685 to 4,140, a shift of +12.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Buenavista. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Salvacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Buenavista is a municipality comprising 36 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salvacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Guimaras, which contains 98 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Salvacion ranks 4th by 2020 population. Guimaras is classified as a 4th by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
