Barangay Santa Rita

Barangay Santa Rita forms part of Cabangan, a municipality in Zambales, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Santa Rita had a population of 2,130. This made it the 3rd largest of 22 barangays in Cabangan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Rita accounted for approximately 7.58% of the total population of Cabangan, which stood at 28,118 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,944 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,130 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Santa Rita as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cabangan is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santa Rita, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
