Barangay Villa Peña

Barangay Villa Peña is a small barangay in the municipality of Cabarroguis, located in the province of Quirino, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Villa Peña had a population of 690. This made it the 14th largest of 17 barangays in Cabarroguis by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Villa Peña accounted for approximately 2.06% of the total population of Cabarroguis, which stood at 33,533 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Villa Peña moving from 708 residents to 690 residents, an intercensal change of -2.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Villa Peña as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cabarroguis is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Villa Peña, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Quirino, which contains 132 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Villa Peña ranks 112th by 2020 population. Quirino is classified as a 3rd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
