Barangay Pug-os

Barangay Pug-os is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Cabugao, located in the province of Ilocos Sur, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pug-os had a population of 2,077. This made it the 3rd largest of 33 barangays in Cabugao by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pug-os accounted for approximately 5.34% of the total population of Cabugao, which stood at 38,884 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pug-os moving from 1,917 residents to 2,077 residents, an intercensal change of +8.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Pug-os is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cabugao is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pug-os, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
