Barangay Turod

Barangay Turod forms part of Cabugao, a municipality in Ilocos Sur, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Turod had a population of 1,479. This made it the 9th largest of 33 barangays in Cabugao by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Turod accounted for approximately 3.80% of the total population of Cabugao, which stood at 38,884 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,452 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,479 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.9%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Turod is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cabugao is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Turod, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Ilocos Sur, which contains 768 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Turod ranks 103rd by 2020 population. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
