Barangay Balombon

Situated in Calabanga, Camarines Sur, Barangay Balombon is one of 48 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balombon had a population of 1,093. This made it the 33rd largest of 48 barangays in Calabanga by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balombon accounted for approximately 1.23% of the total population of Calabanga, which stood at 88,906 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Balombon changed from 1,114 to 1,093, a shift of -1.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Calabanga. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balombon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Calabanga is a municipality comprising 48 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balombon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Sur, which contains 1,063 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Balombon ranks 677th by 2020 population.
