Barangay Makina

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Makina is one of the administrative divisions of Calaca in Batangas, CALABARZON, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Makina had a population of 1,270. This made it the 31st largest of 40 barangays in Calaca by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Makina accounted for approximately 1.45% of the total population of Calaca, which stood at 87,361 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,301 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,270 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -2.4%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Makina is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Calaca is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Makina, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
