Barangay Northern Poblacion

Situated in Calamba, Misamis Occidental, Barangay Northern Poblacion is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Northern Poblacion had a population of 1,684. This made it the 5th largest of 19 barangays in Calamba by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Northern Poblacion accounted for approximately 7.25% of the total population of Calamba, which stood at 23,227 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Northern Poblacion changed from 1,681 to 1,684, a shift of +0.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Calamba. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Northern Poblacion as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Calamba is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Northern Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
