Barangay Tagharigue

Barangay Tagharigue is a small barangay in the municipality of Calubian, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tagharigue had a population of 930. This made it the 7th largest of 53 barangays in Calubian by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tagharigue accounted for approximately 2.94% of the total population of Calubian, which stood at 31,646 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tagharigue moving from 861 residents to 930 residents, an intercensal change of +8.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Tagharigue is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
