Barangay Sapang Bayan

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Sapang Bayan is one of the administrative divisions of Calumpit in Bulacan, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sapang Bayan had a population of 3,140. This made it the 16th largest of 29 barangays in Calumpit by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sapang Bayan accounted for approximately 2.65% of the total population of Calumpit, which stood at 118,471 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Sapang Bayan changed from 2,762 to 3,140, a shift of +13.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Calumpit. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sapang Bayan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Calumpit is a municipality comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sapang Bayan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
