Barangay Catol

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Catol is one of the administrative divisions of Candelaria in Zambales, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Catol had a population of 1,286. This made it the 11th largest of 16 barangays in Candelaria by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Catol accounted for approximately 4.25% of the total population of Candelaria, which stood at 30,263 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Catol moving from 1,344 residents to 1,286 residents, an intercensal change of -4.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Catol is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Candelaria is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Catol, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
