Barangay Dampay

Barangay Dampay is a small barangay in the municipality of Candelaria, located in the province of Zambales, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Dampay had a population of 963. This made it the 16th largest of 16 barangays in Candelaria by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dampay accounted for approximately 3.18% of the total population of Candelaria, which stood at 30,263 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Dampay moving from 927 residents to 963 residents, an intercensal change of +3.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Dampay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Candelaria is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dampay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
