Barangay Barugohay Norte

Barangay Barugohay Norte is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Carigara, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Barugohay Norte had a population of 2,009. This made it the 6th largest of 49 barangays in Carigara by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Barugohay Norte accounted for approximately 3.68% of the total population of Carigara, which stood at 54,656 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Barugohay Norte moving from 2,165 residents to 2,009 residents, an intercensal change of -7.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Barugohay Norte as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
