Barangay Upper Natimao-an

Situated in Carmen, Cebu, Barangay Upper Natimao-an is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Upper Natimao-an had a population of 2,790. This made it the 8th largest of 21 barangays in Carmen by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Upper Natimao-an accounted for approximately 4.82% of the total population of Carmen, which stood at 57,897 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,604 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,790 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Upper Natimao-an as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Carmen is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Upper Natimao-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Upper Natimao-an ranks 374th by 2020 population.
