Barangay Canjela

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Canjela is one of the administrative divisions of Castilla in Sorsogon, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Canjela had a population of 881. This made it the 27th largest of 34 barangays in Castilla by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Canjela accounted for approximately 1.45% of the total population of Castilla, which stood at 60,635 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Canjela changed from 800 to 881, a shift of +10.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Castilla. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Canjela as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Castilla is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Canjela, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
