Barangay Santa Fe

Barangay Santa Fe is a small barangay in the municipality of Catubig, located in the province of Northern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santa Fe had a population of 1,119. This made it the 8th largest of 47 barangays in Catubig by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Fe accounted for approximately 3.48% of the total population of Catubig, which stood at 32,174 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Santa Fe moving from 1,110 residents to 1,119 residents, an intercensal change of +0.8%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Santa Fe is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Catubig is a municipality comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santa Fe, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
