Barangay Pilipil

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Pilipil is one of the administrative divisions of Cervantes in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pilipil had a population of 493. This made it the 13th largest of 13 barangays in Cervantes by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pilipil accounted for approximately 2.53% of the total population of Cervantes, which stood at 19,449 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 406 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 493 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +21.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Pilipil is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cervantes is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pilipil, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
