Barangay Panam-angan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Panam-angan is one of the administrative divisions of City of Bais in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Panam-angan had a population of 1,015. This made it the 28th largest of 35 barangays in City of Bais by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Panam-angan accounted for approximately 1.20% of the total population of City of Bais, which stood at 84,317 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Panam-angan changed from 1,094 to 1,015, a shift of -7.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in City of Bais. Barangay Panam-angan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Bais is a city comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Panam-angan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Oriental, which contains 557 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Panam-angan ranks 454th by 2020 population. Barangay Panam-angan is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
