Barangay Platero

Barangay Platero is a large barangay in the City of Biñan, located in the province of Laguna, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Platero had a population of 14,803. This made it the 9th largest of 24 barangays in City of Biñan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Platero accounted for approximately 3.63% of the total population of City of Biñan, which stood at 407,437 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Platero changed from 10,420 to 14,803, a shift of +42.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Biñan. Barangay Platero is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Biñan is a city comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Platero, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Laguna, which contains 681 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Platero ranks 54th by 2020 population.
