Barangay Tabon

Barangay Tabon is a large barangay in the City of Bislig, located in the province of Surigao Del Sur, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tabon had a population of 13,560. This made it the 2nd largest of 24 barangays in City of Bislig by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Tabon accounted for approximately 13.66% of the total population of City of Bislig, which stood at 99,290 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tabon moving from 13,015 residents to 13,560 residents, an intercensal change of +4.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Tabon is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Bislig is a city comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tabon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Surigao Del Sur, which contains 309 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Tabon ranks 3rd by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
