Barangay Hindang

Barangay Hindang is a small barangay in the City of Borongan, located in the province of Eastern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Hindang had a population of 885. This made it the 29th largest of 61 barangays in City of Borongan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Hindang accounted for approximately 1.23% of the total population of City of Borongan, which stood at 71,961 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Hindang moving from 868 residents to 885 residents, an intercensal change of +2.0%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Hindang is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Borongan is a city comprising 61 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Hindang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
