Barangay Locso-on

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Locso-on is one of the administrative divisions of City of Borongan in Eastern Samar, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Locso-on had a population of 1,462. This made it the 17th largest of 61 barangays in City of Borongan by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Locso-on accounted for approximately 2.03% of the total population of City of Borongan, which stood at 71,961 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Locso-on moving from 1,252 residents to 1,462 residents, an intercensal change of +16.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Locso-on as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Borongan is a city comprising 61 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Locso-on, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
