Barangay Maypangdan

Barangay Maypangdan forms part of City of Borongan, a city in Eastern Samar, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Maypangdan had a population of 2,687. This made it the 5th largest of 61 barangays in City of Borongan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Maypangdan accounted for approximately 3.73% of the total population of City of Borongan, which stood at 71,961 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Maypangdan moving from 2,798 residents to 2,687 residents, an intercensal change of -4.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Maypangdan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
