Barangay Sabang North

Barangay Sabang North is a small barangay in the City of Borongan, located in the province of Eastern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sabang North had a population of 1,144. This made it the 23rd largest of 61 barangays in City of Borongan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Sabang North accounted for approximately 1.59% of the total population of City of Borongan, which stood at 71,961 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Sabang North changed from 1,029 to 1,144, a shift of +11.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Borongan. Barangay Sabang North is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Borongan is a city comprising 61 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sabang North, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Eastern Samar, which contains 597 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Sabang North ranks 119th by 2020 population.
