Barangay Budlasan

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Budlasan is one of the administrative divisions of City of Canlaon in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Budlasan had a population of 4,553. This made it the 6th largest of 12 barangays in City of Canlaon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Budlasan accounted for approximately 7.74% of the total population of City of Canlaon, which stood at 58,822 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,446 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,553 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Budlasan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Canlaon is a city comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Budlasan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Oriental, which contains 557 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Budlasan ranks 75th by 2020 population. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
