Barangay Linothangan

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Linothangan is one of the administrative divisions of City of Canlaon in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Linothangan had a population of 4,080. This made it the 7th largest of 12 barangays in City of Canlaon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Linothangan accounted for approximately 6.94% of the total population of City of Canlaon, which stood at 58,822 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,714 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,080 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Linothangan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Canlaon is a city comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Linothangan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Oriental, which contains 557 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Linothangan ranks 96th by 2020 population.
