Barangay Ruparan

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Ruparan is one of the administrative divisions of City of Digos in Davao Del Sur, Davao Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ruparan had a population of 4,278. This made it the 15th largest of 26 barangays in City of Digos by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Ruparan accounted for approximately 2.27% of the total population of City of Digos, which stood at 188,376 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Ruparan changed from 3,662 to 4,278, a shift of +16.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Digos. Barangay Ruparan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Digos is a city comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ruparan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao Del Sur, which contains 414 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Ruparan ranks 44th by 2020 population. Barangay Ruparan is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
