Barangay Dicayas

Barangay Dicayas is a large barangay in the City of Dipolog, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Norte, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Dicayas had a population of 9,974. This made it the 4th largest of 21 barangays in City of Dipolog by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Dicayas accounted for approximately 7.22% of the total population of City of Dipolog, which stood at 138,141 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 9,618 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 9,974 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Dicayas is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Dipolog is a city comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dicayas, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Del Norte, which contains 691 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Dicayas ranks 4th by 2020 population. Zamboanga Del Norte is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
