Barangay Kalabaylabay

Barangay Kalabaylabay forms part of City of El Salvador, a city in Misamis Oriental, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Kalabaylabay had a population of 1,870. This made it the 11th largest of 15 barangays in City of El Salvador by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Kalabaylabay accounted for approximately 3.18% of the total population of City of El Salvador, which stood at 58,771 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,194 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,870 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +56.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Kalabaylabay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of El Salvador is a city comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Kalabaylabay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
