Barangay Maribucao

Barangay Maribucao is a small barangay in the City of Gingoog, located in the province of Misamis Oriental, in the Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Maribucao had a population of 548. This made it the 61st largest of 79 barangays in City of Gingoog by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Maribucao accounted for approximately 0.40% of the total population of City of Gingoog, which stood at 136,698 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Maribucao changed from 560 to 548, a shift of -2.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in City of Gingoog. Barangay Maribucao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Gingoog is a city comprising 79 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maribucao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Misamis Oriental, which contains 504 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Maribucao ranks 379th by 2020 population.
