Barangay Danao

Barangay Danao is a small barangay in the City of Mati, located in the province of Davao Oriental, in the Davao Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Danao had a population of 722. This made it the 26th largest of 26 barangays in City of Mati by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Danao accounted for approximately 0.49% of the total population of City of Mati, which stood at 147,547 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Danao moving from 801 residents to 722 residents, an intercensal change of -9.9%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Danao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
