Barangay Upper Licanan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Upper Licanan is one of the administrative divisions of City of Panabo in Davao Del Norte, Davao Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Upper Licanan had a population of 1,598. This made it the 32nd largest of 40 barangays in City of Panabo by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Upper Licanan accounted for approximately 0.76% of the total population of City of Panabo, which stood at 209,230 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Upper Licanan changed from 1,588 to 1,598, a shift of +0.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in City of Panabo. Barangay Upper Licanan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Panabo is a city comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Upper Licanan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
