Barangay Alimono

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Alimono is one of the administrative divisions of City of Passi in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Alimono had a population of 2,894. This made it the 7th largest of 51 barangays in City of Passi by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Alimono accounted for approximately 3.26% of the total population of City of Passi, which stood at 88,873 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,540 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,894 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +13.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Alimono is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Passi is a city comprising 51 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alimono, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Alimono ranks 102nd by 2020 population. Iloilo is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Alimono is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
