Barangay Nataban

Situated in City of San Carlos, Negros Occidental, Barangay Nataban is one of 18 barangays that make up the city within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Nataban had a population of 3,816. This made it the 14th largest of 18 barangays in City of San Carlos by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Nataban accounted for approximately 2.88% of the total population of City of San Carlos, which stood at 132,650 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,854 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,816 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.0%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Nataban is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of San Carlos is a city comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Nataban, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Occidental, which contains 662 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Nataban ranks 260th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
