According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cobol had a population of 3,959. This made it the 13th largest of 86 barangays in City of San Carlos by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Cobol accounted for approximately 1.93% of the total population of City of San Carlos, which stood at 205,424 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,640 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,959 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +8.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cobol as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of San Carlos is a city comprising 86 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cobol, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
