Barangay Pangpang

Situated in City of San Carlos, Pangasinan, Barangay Pangpang is one of 86 barangays that make up the city within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pangpang had a population of 3,579. This made it the 18th largest of 86 barangays in City of San Carlos by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Pangpang accounted for approximately 1.74% of the total population of City of San Carlos, which stood at 205,424 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,140 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,579 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +14.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pangpang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of San Carlos is a city comprising 86 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pangpang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pangpang ranks 206th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
