Barangay Santo Niño forms part of City of San Fernando, a city in Pampanga, and is classified as a large barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Santo Niño had a population of 11,208. This made it the 10th largest of 35 barangays in City of San Fernando by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Santo Niño accounted for approximately 3.16% of the total population of City of San Fernando, which stood at 354,666 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 8,804 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 11,208 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +27.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Santo Niño as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of San Fernando is a city comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santo Niño, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pampanga, which contains 538 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Santo Niño ranks 33rd by 2020 population. Barangay Santo Niño is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
