Barangay Gil Montilla

Barangay Gil Montilla is a large barangay in the City of Sipalay, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Gil Montilla had a population of 6,544. This made it the 2nd largest of 17 barangays in City of Sipalay by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Gil Montilla accounted for approximately 9.03% of the total population of City of Sipalay, which stood at 72,448 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 6,252 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 6,544 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Gil Montilla is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Sipalay is a city comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gil Montilla, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
